About

The Goal of this website is to take on Baseball analytics from a different point of view. From the point of view of History. Through historical research, one can access trends in baseball and better understand the game and better deploy a winning strategy. I have been a Student Assistant to Greg Wallace, the Head Baseball Coach at Augustana College (NCAA Division III) for four years. In 2016, We won the CCIW Conference Title, CCIW Conference Tournament Title, and appeared in the NCAA DIII Central regional. One of the things Mr. Wallace has me do is write scouting reports for everyone of our opponents. I have posted many of those reports on this website. At Augustana College, I am a History Major. During my 3rd year at Augustana College, I did was given grants to research the origins of baseball. These skills have helped me develop theories on Historical Baseball Analysis. What is Historical Baseball Analysis? Historical Baseball Analysis takes on baseball from a historical point of view and analyzes the trends with philosophy and logic. The problem with baseball today is that it is a prisoner to numbers. Historical Baseball Analysis frees baseball from statistical analysis (not invalidating) and brings about a new way of thinking about baseball and everything about the game (player performances, roster construction ect.).
